out of control arms

Default out of control arms

we have a 04 6 the lower control arms squeak. the dealer says it needs bushings. have others of us had this problem? how much trouble is it to replace them myself at home with typical hand tools

Pretty sure you need a press to change out the bushings.

W/O researching this further, the lower control arms may not have replaceable bushings. It's not uncommon these days that you would replace them as an assembly.
And to answer your question, no, I have not heard of anyone else with this particular problem.
Have you tried spraying them down liberally with some silicone lubricant?

I have same car with same problem, except mine creak not squeak. Spraying the bushings with silicone didn't work. It wore off in a day. The bushings can be replaced for like $30 a piece and are pressed in.
