The oil-eating Mazda 6 1.8 gas
Hi! I recently received a 2006 Mazda 6 1.8 gas but I don't understand why it keeps consuming oil. Estimated 1 liter per 200 miles. I went to the mechanic and did the compression test. Don't lose oil anywhere , the mechanic put 10w40, changed everything that needed to be changed, but it still eats a lot of oil. Do you know what it could be or have you experienced this before?
Thanks in advance for any kind of answer!

Welcome to the forum.
They should have done a wet compression test after the dry test and followed by a leak down test. If you are not leaking oil, then you are burning it.
Changine to different viscosity will not cure the oil burning.
My guess is bad oil scrapers. Those are piston ring that control the oil on the cylinder walls.
The only other would be your PCV system is eating your oil but that would also mean you are burning it.
