Default my 1st winter

I've got an '08 2.3 and this is my first winter to have my 6. lately I've been smelling antifreeze I think. it only smells for a few minutes then goes away but sometimes after it goes away the smell comes back. so I don't know if it's doin this cause of the cold.

Have you had your coolant changed prior to you smelling antifreeze? A serivce tech could have spilled some antifreeze in the engine compartment. Antifreeze has kind of a sweet smell. If you are smelling it after you park the car you could have a coolant leak ie bad radiator or hose, keep an eye on your coolant level.

no never changed. unless mazda did it when I had oil change but they never said anything. it doesn't smell after I park and last nite when I got home I smelled the outside and nothing. also I haven't noticed any leak spots on the driveway where I park. but mazda would've said something if it is leaking....I hope. I just had oil change in nov or dec...can't remember

Is it really that cold down south???? I'm planning on driving down to Daytona FL. at the end of the month.
Should I leave my snow tires on and bring my parka?
