Any help would be much appreciated,
first time poster pls excuse the ignorance
my sons car ( 2002 Mazda 6 ) broken into/tried to steal it, damage to ignition area but appears wires are still in tact, however when I put key in, it powers on but does not start engine, theres a key flash light indicator that flashes, tried all the resetting methods ive read on here, not sure if ive done it right or not but stil not working. any suggestions ? could it be a faulty transponder/receiver thingy??

Most likely they damaged the transponder receiver on the barrel.
