mazda wont start on days above 85 degrees outside?
Hey guys my mazda 6 wont start on these hot days. my battery was a little weak so i bought a brand new one and still wont start on hot day. soon as it cools down or sun sets starts fine. i have tuned it up also. there is a light on dashboard that flashes with a pic of a key in it, does any one have any ideas on y my mazda will not start?
What is it doing? Does it not crank? Does it crank but not start? What year and engine is your car?
If it cranks and doesn't start, it could be in the ignition. I don't know where you live, but if the relative humidity is raising along with the temps, it could be impacting components of the ignition system. Depending on what engine you have, you may need to check cap & rotor, plug wires, coil connections, the coils themselves, or the plugs.

it doest not turn over at all, is there any kind of temperature sensor connected to the ignition or starter that would prevent starting when its so hott? seems more common when its really hot in the cabin. i tried starting with the old screw driver to starter trick and it done nothing but spark haha. then in about 10 minutes later it just started?
thanks karl i will try that too, heck a relay has to be cheaper then sensors or starter. i am wondering if its the starter and when its real hot outside it affects the bad starter? idk but its been cooler and cloudy the past couple days and been working fine. if anybody else has encountered similar problems please reply. this has been a headache to me for a couple months and dont have the extra money to be guessing wrong you know.
Would still like to know what engine you have, and if it's a 4 cyl, if it's old enough to be one of them with plug wires and a cap & rotor. Humidity will kill the transfer of spark in a traditional set-up. (Obviously doesn't effect coil-on-plug set-ups)
