Sure, invest in quality springs, get upgraded dampers as well (ones that will deal with the lower ride height) and do lot of research before you buy anything. I'm serious, if you haven't looked at every option, then you haven't done enough. Learn about the spring rates of the springs as well as the compression and rebound rates of the dampers. and whatever you do, DO NOT BE AN IDIOT AND CUT YOUR SPRINGS!!!!!! A good start for research would be www.mazda6club.com they have a whole section on suspension mods and lots of people there to help you along the way.

As for what David said, for most drivers this holds true, but the way the car is set up stock is a compromise between comfort and performance with a slight bias (IMHO) towards comfort. All the mods out there are a form of compromise as well, I say this because they will all have some form of trade off. Even in the car/tuner world the law of TANSTAFL still applies. Stiffer springs/dampers/swaybars will offer better handling, but they will degrade the ride comfort to some extent. Things like CAI's make the car more vulnerable to hazards like hydro lock. What parts are apropriate for your ride can only be determined by what you the driver are willing to sacrafice. Also simply throwing mods at a car will not necessarily make it faster around a track, in actuality it can have the oposite effect. That's why all mods should be carefuly researched before you ever buy them or put them on your car.

Cameron is dead-on-*****:

Only mod if you have a thorough UNDERSTANDING of the mod that your considering, as well as its trade-offs. Me? Our 6S Wagon is the family car, so I DON'T WANT better handling in exchange for comfort. Cameron is exactly right when stating that the stock setup leans a bittowards comfort. On our beach trips, and our Cleveland OH trips, it damn well better lean towards comfort! My only point was "Don't do the mod and then complain about the results". Cheers,

David
