have 2004 Mazda 6 wagon, V6. I want to chnage oil, but can't figure out what type of clamp/wrench to take filter off! Went to Auto zone and tried loop style, then cap style, neither fit. Oil filter is in very weird spot----anyone know what you use to take it off?

 

I have a loop style and i have no problems with using the loop style. There are a couple of different size loop styles, so it sounds like you may have gotten the wrong size.
