Default Mazda 6 - Does it use up alot of petrol

Hi

Can anyone help me, i'm looking at buying a 2005 Mazda 6 1.8litre petrol, does it use up alot of petrol? I know higher the engine size the more likely it will use up more petrol but would it use alot? thanks

probablyget about 30+ mpg with the 1.8L dont qoute me tho, but its likely

I'm in the US and have the 2.5 which is rated at 21/30 (city/highway mpg). In real world application, I am averaging 27.1-28.2 mpg which I think is quite good for a mid-size sedan. That 1.8L will surely get even better mpg as the article states. I don't know how that compares to most of those tiny UK vehicles though.
