Hi all, first thread here.

What is the max torque that the gearbox in a 2001 Mazda 6 2,2 diesel will survive whitout complains
over it?

By your exact question there is no information on the torsional stress for a automatic Mazda transmission before you fracture the case.
The estimated safe applied power is 250 HP . You can figure out the applied toque based on HP and my suggestion is to reduce that number by 25% to be safe.
Now if you have a manual transmission, I have not run any tests and would use the Mazda factory power ratings and again reduce the max torque claimed produced by 25%
Both are assuming that the transmission and if manual the clutch is in perfect service order and not more than 150K miles with frequent fluid serving during its lifetime.
There are no empirical facts that I am aware for the max."SAFE" applied force on a transmission and are based observed estimates as well on our shops servicing transmission and myself personally regarding a Mazda Skyactiv transmission.to which I know will fail with more than 300whp+ to the transmission

Oh snap! I forgott to tell that it's a 6-speed manuall transmission. Just asking 'cause i'm thinking of a KCR-dieselbox for it. It will step things up to approximatly 195 hp / 400 Nm.
Just curious if it will survive for normal driving or if it will go into orbit...

The 195 I presume is WHP and not crank HP? If so I am sure you will be ok? It more when you start getting over 250 WHP that starts to be concerning. I actually detuned my gas fueled Mazda limiting it to 245whp max. Yup I know who does that detunes their engine, right? LOL

I don't know if its wheel- or crank- power. KCR sais that 163/360 will be approximatly 195/400.

That's a wide range I wonder why?
Its crank , generally most with AC compressor and generator? But it is crank . WHP is only really done independently not from the auto manufacture for aftermarket also necessitate with large amount a ECU program to calibrate the new power increase to run the engine safely.

I find it's not the torque that kills it's the way some ********* drive. Sudden shock breaks parts. I have seen cars with the OE gearbox and massive increase in power and still survive a long time then I have also seen a std car rip the centre out of the clutch plate so you be the judge.
