Default Low Fuel Indicator

How many miles can you drive once this warning light comes on? Being that I don't want to get stuck on the side of I-95, I've only gone 6 miles before refueling. I had a Protege' and I think I may have gone a little over 10 miles before refilling.

I think I have around 3 gallons under the E. As to how far one can go, well that depends on driving conditions.

But "3 gallons", if that's basically accurate, certainly gives you a "comfort level" ballpark as to how far you should push it. Thanks for the info, thedfo!

I bet you were carrying an extratank of gas when you tested the reserve.

you would have thought so! ha ha, but I wasn;t, I figured I have AAA, have yet to use it, and I was on my way to work, so I figured it would have been a good excuse to be late!

OK. I have found out that my 6s will go 30 miles on low fuel before it runs out. How do I know? Well, I ran out of fuel. From the momonet the light came on, I set the trip-meter to keep track of the milage. Then within 2/10ths of a mile from Wawa, I was completely out of gas!!!

I have gone 40-45 miles once my light comes on and still have not run out of gas. This was on my way home from Peoria, IL on 2-lane highway at 70 - 75 mph.
