Default A little discouraged...

Hey guys, im new to this forum and I just bought a new 2006 mazda 6i with 15 miles on it. I love the car, ive wanted one for 3 years but i was always set on a 6s. But when i found this car, I just couldnt pass up the price and i figured i could do a few small modifications to make up for it not being a 6s. But all ive really seen on here are 6s. i dont want just an "OK" car, someone help! did i screw up???

depending on what you are going for the 6i can be just as fun as the 6s. would take a lot to beat one in an all out drag, but it's not too bad. the 200lbs savings helps a bit obviously. by summer the 6i will have all the parts available to beat the typical 6s and maintain daily drivabilty. intake, headers & midpipe, cams, BSD, exhaust should put it in the 185whp range or so.

or you can always go the turbo route. so far i think i've had the highest (dyno'd at least) whp of any daily driven 6 for the last 6 months or so...and i'm a 6i automatic. just depends on how far you wanna go.

How could you possibly screw up on a car that you love? If you love it, who cares what everyone else has. Like MrTea said, there will be plenty of mods you can add onto your 6i that will more than likely set your "ok" car apart from the 6s's that are out there. Add personal flare to it and enjoy it! It's a great car!

I had the same issue with my red, the above worked, except I held it for a good 30 seconds.

I had the same thoughts when I got my i too...i really wanted the power of the s and had my heart set on one. But I've found that it has all the power i need for a heck of a lot cheaper (saved on insurance too). It's still flashy, looks amazing, and I can still kick the crap out of other cars . You didnt make a mistake!

hell... a car is a car when comparing 6i and 6s... if you want a fast ride, might as well just buy a faster car! thats my theory on this whole situation. the models are almost the same, just a few different specs every here and there. dont regret the decision you make! if you like your car, who cares what anyone else says. you have your reasons...

I bought the v6 for smoother and less frequent gear changes... I agree, there is much faster out there, and with a lot less bhp.
