Default Key Fob

Good day,

I just got yesterday a Mazda 6, 2013 GS. I got only one key/keyfob

I saw that I can order new/blank from ebay, so I can go to a locksmith to have the key cut, then I can program the remote for lock/unlock..

but... there is a immobilizer chip in the key, right? Is there a way to program it with the car without going to the dealer?

Thanks

Frank

When you turn off the car, close the door & lock the car, is there a red light that flashes beside the speedo/rev counter?
Yes = it has a immobiliser. No = no immobiliser fitted.

As You haven't told us where in the world you are I don't know what services are available in your area.

Some locksmiths have the technology to programme the key, otherwise you need to visit the dealership.

Good day,

I just looked, yet, it have one. (Small car with lock on it)

I'm in Montreal, Canada. So the best thing, from what I read, is to get the key/keyfob on ebay, and then have it programmed by the dealer?

Thanks
