Default Ignition coil connector

Hey guys. My 04 6s has been riding rough so I took it to get the CEL scanned. Says it's a misfire in cylinder 1. So I get the intake manifold off and I get the ignition coil boot out, replace the spark plug, and go to change out the boot with a new one. It's then that I realize that the last (terrible) mechanic I took my car to, put some blue epoxy/rubber stuff around the connector that goes to the boot. Tried to pry it off or force it and now there is a hair line Crack in it. So.....without knowing exactly what the stuff is, does anyone know a non conductive solvent that would get rid of it? Or if not, is there an easy way to replace that connector that a weekend mechanic could do? Thanks!
