How does the damper clip detach from the glove box in a 2006 Mazda 6? I tried tugging on the black plastic part to which the cable attaches, but that anchorage does not pull down off the wall of the glove box. I read somewhere online that the cable detaches from the plastic anchorage, but that does not look obvious to me. Is that how it works, though?

I want to inspect the cabin-air filter.
