Default Factory Sirius installation 2010 6

Hi people. I am trying to help my sister out by installing a factory Sirius unit. The dealer wants about $800 which is ridiculous.

Where can I get the Sirius unit and how easy of an install is it?

Thanks

The dealer wants $800 for the SIRIUS brain unit to work with the OEM radio, I found Ebay to be the cheapest place to get the brain unit. You have an 2010 so I don't think youll find it there. Dealer only. You could always buy a Sirius radio its cheaper than the $800 the dealer wants for the brain unit

To work with the OEM radio, you need to get the Mazda unit, sorry. I got mine from Jason at Montgomery Mazda in Charlotte, NC (sponsor on Miata.net) for about $200 less than the local Mazda dealer wanted. Then I had the local dealer install the kit for which he charged $150. You now get the full Mazda warranty just like it came with the car new doing it this way.

Prices change, but seems like around $295 but dealer indicated there was a additional kit of some sort that they gouged me on. You need to talk to Jason and he'll be able to tell you exactly what you need and be advised the kit comes with full instructions. As I said, I paid the local dealer $150 and he had the thing in and running in about an hour and a half. I'm guessing you could get a local radio install shop to do it for less, but the OEM warranty is good if installed by a dealer. Otherwise it's like a year.

If you still need help with this pm me. i can email you the mazda instructions and ebay is a great site to get these accessory parts. If its not on ebay, just email one of the sellers, they probably just post the newer accessories because thats what currently sells, but they can still get the parts. Or just call a dealer and have them run it on a locate, any dealers that have it in stock are probably itching to get rid of it, Ive been in the automotive business a long time
