Default door panel headache.. too shallow for components

i got a 03 6s with bose. i recently went to install my HU and component speakers along with the metra kit only to find out that the focal 165k2p's are too deep and do not fit in the door panel. The speakers can fit in the door but i would lose my front windows as the window would hit the speaker and would not be able to lower. has any1 else run into this problem.. my options are to find some other component set that will fit but im pretty stuck on the K2's.....mold a custom panel...the problem is that im told by the shop that the custom panel would not look great and they will do the work but it'll get costly and they cant gaureentee the cosmetics with the panel will be great.. has any1 had a custom panel made .. if so ideas, pics, thoughts would be much appreciated

unless you know of a very reliable custom shop, i would just find thinner speakers.

What speakers would be able to fit in the door panels without having a custom mold? I was thinking of upgrading my audio system as well as dropping in two 12" audiobahn subs crankin' 2000 watts and then put some additional tweeters to the stock system. How would you know if the speakers would be able to fit comfortably without customizing the door panel?

My question would be...how much additional depth do you need to make them clear? I would try using some spacer rings, since there is SOME clearance between the speaker face and the speaker cover on that particular model. Building custom spacer rings in the proper depth shouldn't be out of the realm of possibility, unless the speakers simply need TOO MUCH depth.

if it helps, i know that Infinity speakers often have a very shallow mounting depth (not sure about their components). the use of a spacer of some sort also sounds like a good idea.
