Default Damage

Hi! I just hit something in the road in my 2014 mazda 6 and it pretty much annihilated the entire right side of the bumper. The headlight is still there but everything else beneath it is trashed and the cover around the right wheel is ripped out.
the sensor is gone, the fog light and the windshield reservoir for the fluid is busted.

anyone have any ideas how I should go about getting this fixed reliably? I dont wanna go through insurance because I have a DUI and already pay an absurd amount of money. Any help would be very nice because I'm only an E-3 in the navy and do not make a lot of money

thank you

Unless you've done body repair before it's a bit challenging.

I would suggest - calling or going by a couple of independent body shops and get an estimate. If you can afford to have them do it then you're set, if not at least you'll have a parts list of what's needed.

Also, after you know what you need you can start calling some of the salvage yards and see if they have what you need and start piecing it together.

Should be cheaper to put it thru your insurance. Bumper alone would be a easy $500

Absolutely, except he mentioned he's trying to avoid the insurance route. Having them cancel you would end up being more money but by just having it increase you'd still come out ahead for a year or two anyway. After that it's usually in your best interest to shop around and look for a cheaper rate.
