Default RE: Connecting heated seats?

Hi, I have a 2003 Mazda6 Sport.

I too have loads of wires fitted to the underside of my seats. I am not sure what these are for.

I know that the bose amp is meant to be hidden under one of the seats and the power seat (driver's side) could account for some wiring?

I would love to think there is a chance i could just plug some switches in somewhere and get some heated seats. (IF ANYONE KNOWS MORE PLEASE HELP US!!! )

However, to get back to the point of my post, I presume you are referring to the white connector next to the black box. (shown in your pics).

I have had a look for myself and in my car this connector is connected. I have traced the 3 wires coming out of it to my sat nav remote. So not for heated seats i am afraid.

It would be cool to get heated seats though! Anyone, please help us!

All the wiring I believe is for the sensors in the seats that detect weight and such for the airbags...Correct me if I am wrong.

chazza55: thanks, so it looks like the white connector is nothing to do with heated seats then :-( I don't have sat nav in mine. The bose amp is under the drivers seat.

Maybe someone who doesn't have leather could have a look under their passenger seat to see if they have the wires as well?
Ifyou do then they must be for the air bags which will be a shame.

Any chance someone with switches could have a look and see where they connect to?

If you have the wiring in place, there would be 2 unconnected harnesses directly underneath the center console (main base, where you put CD's and stuff), you may have to pull up the console to access this area. One pigtail would go towards the passenger seat and one would go towards the drivers seat. They would be routed underneath the carpet.

Are you positive the heating elements are in your seat?

Yeah, I don't think Mazdawould put heating coils in every seat and the dealer just has to install a switch if you want heated seats.
On the other hand, I don't see the dealer ripping out the leather or cloth to put in the coils if you want heated seats after the car has left the factory. So heated seats are installed in the factoryon high end models as standard equipment or pre-ordered and of course, they will give you a switch.
Sounds like you don't have heating coils in your seats at all. The connectors you found are for something else.
