Default Anyone putting bigger (wider) tires on 09's

I have an 09 6s Sport with the 17's. The factory Michelins are down to the wear bars already@ 30k miles. So i'm tire shopping. I don't like the look of the 215/55's, they are too skinny. I'm thinking 225/50's or 235/50's. Any suggestions?

From a circumference standpoint, the 235/50 would be a better fit, but I'm not so sure they would fit under the fenders w/o modifications of one sort or another. I know the 1st gens have limited space for bigger wheels/tires unless the fenders are rolled, and even then....
But have you also considered that going almost 1" wider (20mm = 8/10") would require wider wheels as well? That's an expense you may not be prepared for.

Mounted 235/50/17's today. Grreat fitment and no rubbing issues at all.

How wide are the OE wheels? If they are not at least 7.5" a 235 would be stretched.
