Bikes are always fun, I've got a 95 Suzuki GS500E and an 04 Gixxer 600. SOOOOOO much fun. But I'm neglecting them right now to have fun in the 6, plus we got our first rain for the season, and those who live in cali know how that goes.

We have been discussing getting an R1, but maybe an R6, although I love the Honda 1000RR. I might need a less powerful bike, so maybe I will get the 600 and Johnny will get the 1000.

My 600 is PLENTY powerful for me. There is no NEED for the 1000, anybody that tells you that is crazy unless they are using it for track-only, in which case, guys on 600's pass guys on 1000's in the corners, only to be passed on the straights. The only benefit I see on a 1000 over the 600 is the less peaky power curve and a little more torque. The 1000 is only a couple tenths faster in the quarter mile, but you won't even dip in to the 600's power in traffic. Good luck, and enjoy whatever you choose. Or you could keep the couple thousand you'll save going with 600's and pour that extra $$ into your 6.

My husband would like the 1000 because he is a bigger, heavier guy and the 600 just isnt enough for him. I think the 600 is perfect for me, I was riding a NC30 a few years back and I needed just a bit more. I don't plan on racing at the track, been there, done that with my ex who raced his 600rr. I am just wanting to joy ride, while hubby wants tricks!

MPS is a fast car. an insane drivetrain, great all around performance wise

but when it comes to looks. i dont like it. ugly black plastic above rear exhaust pipes. TINY spoiler. ugly (and hard to clean) rims
IMO. my car [picture in signature] looks alot nicer.

*puts flame suit on* [:-]

I love my speed six. I love the understated looks of it. I'm kinda hapy it doesn't have a big spoiler, I don't even like the one on the regular 6. I didn't like the wheels at first, but they've grown on me. And since I beat a 95 Trans Am with the 350 and a 6 speed tonight, I LOVE this car even more. I knew it was fast, but dang. I like the 6 and the speed six though, both sleek looking cars in my opinion. I'm so happy I didn't go with a new mustang when my 04 got totalled. And I'm getting the mazdaspeed intake and Magnaflow cat back for my christmas present for my baby.

Go with the speed, you know you want it. Besides, BMW is overrated. Yes, they're a nice car but WAY overpriced.
Amen brother!!! I like BMW too, but they are overpriced. In Europe they are actually an affordable car, but here in the US they've convinced they buying public that they are some sort of premium vehicle. Of course, compared to what the domestics were selling for years the Bimmers were premium. lol

Hey nice post. speed6's, bike's, and bmw's

I haven't had any problems with my speed 6 yet. Except you pretty much HAVE to buy winter tires for it to perform well in snowy weather. Couple other extra expenses like premium fuel. Other than that I'm very happy wth the car and the performance, styling, pretty much everything about the car.

When I first got it, it reminded me alot of my dad's 330i, especially the interior. Just not as many bells and whistles. I've liked bmw's for ever. With the incentives on the speed6, it was a no brainer, awd, manual trans, turbo4. You'll spend $10k more for any other car that compares.

I just got rid of my 04 r1. It was a very nice bike, completely tuned and modded, so so fast with 162rwhp, up over 100hp by 7k rpm's, and it's not even redlining yet @ 13k rpm's. Funny how cars just don't excite after you're used to something with 1hp for every 4lb. I had to sell it though, mabey next year I'll get a dedicated track bike, but I just can't see myself getting another street bike for a while. 8 years on the street without any crashes or get-off's, I got the feeling my luck was about to run out. I don't wanna drag you potential riders down though. I've never had more fun than on a sportbike.
