Default Air Conditioning Trick....

I've known this for a while now just out of experimentation...

if you were to set your vehicle to, lets say 60 degrees for your a/c... and then turned off your a/c unit (while you were driving around in a cool climate)... oh, and your a/c vents are opened up... you will get a blast of cool air from the outside air without having your unit turned on.

vice versa for heating your car... if you have your a/c temperature to, lets say 90 degrees... and then turned off your a/c unit (while you were driving around in a hot climate, but the heat from the engine can give you heat in the cold temperature as well.. i have experienced this)... and once again, your a/c vents are opened... you will get a blast of consistent warm air from your engine compartment.

this happens when you are driving down the road... but when your vehicle is not in motion... you do not get to experience this a/c trick. you have to be moving!

has anyone else discovered this by chance?

yes I have noticed it too...but there is a button that can change that so the air just circulates throughout your car and doesn't come in from the outside[8D]

The AC system is maximized when run on the recirculate mode (2 choices, recirculate or fresh air)

Say the outside temp is 80 degrees F, and your AC is shooting out 60 F air. The AC system has to cool the air by ~20 degrees, now if you are on recirculate and the inside of your car has been cooled to say 72, it only has to try to cool the charge by 12 degrees.

but your fresh air (breathable) will run out after 20 minutes before you breathe in your recirculated 'breathe' ... hopefully you brushed your theeth ; in that case if it was peppermint : add 5 minutes lol

no , seriously 20 minutes is what the computer in the hwy rigs let you know (Freightliners with Condo Sleepers) ... now that should be about bit less for a Sedan , few minutes more for the Hatch
