Default 2018 Mazda 6 turbo engine air filter

Has anyone found a source for engine air filters for 2018 M6's with the 2.5L turbo?

How about hour friendly neighborhood Mazda dealer?

Question: Why are you wanting to replace the filter already?

Problem is my friendly neighborhood Mazda dealer recommended (at about 13,000 miles)
that the filter be changed, for about $70. I figured I could do it myself for a fraction of that,
but, so far, I am unable to find a non-dealer source.

Tell your dealer they're trying to fleece you. Look at your Owner's Manual, I'll bet dollars to donuts it doesn't recommend an air filter change before somewhere in the 30,000 to 40,000 mile range, and even that is conservative.

A dealer service department trying to fleece a customer? I'm AGHAST!!!!

Have come to expect that, it's true for Ford and Toyota also , in Oklahoma anyway.
I'm pretty sure that the two or three insects in the filter don't impede the flow of
air, but I'm shown that every trip to the dealer, even if I just replaced the filter (in
the case of Toyota or Ford) myself in the last 1,000 miles. The list of recommended
maintenance items grows every year. You have to ask, for each item, "is that dealer-
recommended maintenance, or manufacturer-recommended maintenance?" or be
prepared for some really outrageous rip-offs. Service departments are definitely all
about profits these days, and I haven't visited a dealer service department with much
integrity in a long time. I'm expecting someone to recommend changing the fluid in
my turn signals, any trip now.

Just be aware that on the turbo version of the Mazda6, the "Automatic Blinker Fluid" is different between the front and rear of the car.

You can use the same filter that the CX9 with the 2.5L turbo takes. It's not common but much easier to find. Incidentally, it's the same deal with wiper blades.

Bought mine at NAPA. Didn’t need one. Purchased it as a self-defense measure for the exact reason(s) listed above: Dealer Fleecing. The day before I go in for my Oil/filter change, I take out the old one (6,000 miles!) and insert the new one. Not one word was said about the one they find inside the air box. Imagine that! LOL

Do same with Cabin Air, as well. Also bought at NAPA.
