Default 2010 mazda 6 2.5 headlight adjusters broke

Hi, a newbie here,i recently bought a mazda 6 and noticed that on low beams i could barely see 5 feet ahead of the car. Replaced bulbs to a brighter bulb and no help, i decided to use the adjusters thatvu put screwdriver into and turn clockwise to lower and counter to raise. Long story short as i was turning adjuster to raise light i heard a little noise and noticed the low beam projector was further pointed down? Tried tightning and counter clockwise nothing really moved it? Can they be fixed? If i yurn the screwdriver and look through back where the bulb is i see the long screw turning, it looks like a white plastic piece turns with the screw: but projector doesn't go up or down? I can reach in from behind and move projector up and down with my hand. Is it broke? Both are like this left and right and it affected the high beams as well. HELP?
