2007 Mazda 6 - Unable to Dip Hi/Low Beam
Noob 1st post here, please be gentle.
Hi, Not-so-proud owner of a 2007 Mazda 6 2.0L Diesel Hatch. Suspect I have caused this by adding LED globes to the HI beam only, possibly at a higher current draw then the original halogens. Symptoms: Headlights will turn on and off correctly when combination switch is twisted. Headlights will NOT switch between HI and LO when the combination switch is pushed forward / pulled backwards. Headlights stuck on HI beam. Pulling back on the lever when the lights are off correctly brings up temporary hi beam. I can't find a dimmer relay anywhere, only a general headlight relay (70A) which seems to be working correctly (on/off). Am I correct in assuming the only option left is to pull and test the combination switch on the steering column? Many thanks for the help.... |
SOLVED
Issue above solved. Found a short inside the headlight assembly itself. A direct result of me and my fat fingers. Not the result I would have expected, given the symptoms. Now to get back to adding some driving lights. |
