Ok so, I recently bought this 08 mazda 6. It came with 1 key, and at the time, only the physical key worked. No blinking lights on the fob. I figured it was just a dead battery. I also wanted a spare key, so I ordered one off of ebay for the time being. I figured that even if it didn't work I could at least swap the parts over so the old key looked new.

Anyways, when I put in a brand new battery, the key fob keeps blinking red. Doesn't remotely unlock the doors. I tried reprogramming the key (using the below video), but when I get to the last step, the key doesn't respond (after closing the door 3 times, I press a button on the key twice, and nothing happens).

And now a related issue- I tried programming the new key, same thing, no response. But now the alarm/theft deterrent system keeps going off. I took out the horn relay for now and I can get it to turn off, but it's not a great fix.

Any idea how I can get the original key to work and turn off the alarm system? I think it has something to do with the unrecognized chip in the new one... Not so sure.

 

Hi, Has anybody had this issue on a 2009 Mazda 6, no beginning, key coxcomb not distinguished, security lock is on, no wrench, vehicle is immobilized, vehicle is in vendor since Wednesday morning, vehicle must be towed there w/AAA, specialists can't sort out what made it or how fix, specialists called Mazda base camp for direction, it been a week and no counselor calls me for updates or administration supervisor, vehicle just has 54,700 unique miles, I'm the second proprietor, purchased the vehicle on 3/5/2021.
