Fit some new bulbs.

I don't think its the bulb, those HD def lights either work or don't.

Any update to your problem? Did you find a solution? I ask because my girlfriends mazda 6 is having the same problem. We thought it was a bulb problem and replaced them with no results. I gave the headlight a bump and that did the trick. Noticed as she was leaving the house this morning that it was off again.

Do you have HID headlights?

Common problem is the ballasts (transformer / igniter unit) play up and slowly die.

had this issue on an old 6 of mine (2007) diesel.

Was 'hitting' the body work adjacent to the light unit to make it come on - lasted about 6 months and ended up changing the bulb (passenger front).

No, I don't believe so. I've never dealt with HID headlights but when I changed the bulb the other day it seemed like a normal high beam bulb. Sylvania H1 bulb I believe. After changing the high beam bulb both lights (high and low driver side) require the "bump" to get them working. I've checked the connections on the new bulb and everything seems okay. No corrosion or cracks in the wires.
