07 Mazda 6 Rear Shock Help
Hi all,
Brand new to this site and I need some help.
I need to change out the rear shocks and I need to know is there an access panel to remove the top shock mounting bolt? There is just no room there to get to the darn thing.
Thanks in advance for the help.

Look up inside the wheel well and you should see an aluminum mounting bracket with two nuts.
Spray the nuts/studs well with a cleaner/lubricant, wait a few minutes and remove the nuts holding the bracket.

rear shocks done
Thanks for the info.
the top bracket is held on by 3 bolts. You can only get a socket on one of them. The other 2 you can get a wrench on but you cant even get a half turn at a time. Once you get the 3 bolts undone then it is like figuring out a jigsaw puzzle to get the bracket with the shock still attached to it out. Then one you swap out the shock and it is back to the jigsaw puzzle to get the thing back in there.
When the engineers built that set up they did not give a single thought to the mechanics or replacing parts.
Anyways it is done now.
Thanks again

Hmmm.... I used to work on British cars. This sounds a lot like that. I lost a lot of knuckles and blood to those MG's and Triumph's... but as screwy as it sounds I loved 'em just the same.

I still have a 1 inch scar on the outside of my hand when I changed a spark plug many many moons ago! Cars are becoming more compact these days and using every inch. I have seen some old cars where you could actually sit in the engine bay to do work-----NO MORE!
Tell me you couldn't sit in these engine bays! (Chrysler Slant 6).
