New guy here, please be patient.

I have a 2006 Mazda 6 V6 with the automatic/manual transmission. The transmission started slipping a while ago under hard acceleration, but I've been able to work with that using the manual function of the automatic to compensate for the need to downshift. This has been fine for a while.

Within the past few weeks, though, my car is starting to buck under hard acceleration while in Automatic Mode. It always happens in 4th 5th or 6th gear, and sometimes in 3rd. If I go to the manual usage, it goes away. So if I am going up a hill in 6th, it starts to buck, I manually shift down to 5th ( and sometimes all the way down to 4th) and the bucking goes away and the car is able to slowly accelerate.

My mechanic tried adding auto transmission fluid, but no change.

Any ideas why this is happening?

I'm not sure if it's related, but when I am going at slow speeds and it's quiet, every time I press the accelerator pedal, I hear a clicking sound. Take my foot off the accelerator, it stops. The clicking is constant regardless of speed. Maybe related?

If this is your first oil change, it's too late! Auto tranny fluid needs to be changed every 50,000 km!
I have an 06 V6 6 speed auto. Mine lasted less than 50,000 km.
When you get your new tranny, get an external tranny cooler because the stock one is inadequate.

You should also get this installed: TransGo AW-TF-81SC,*AWF21: SK AWF21
If yours is a 6 speed auto, it's the same as mine. Aisin Warner 6 speed tranny
