I put winter tires on my CX-5 - 17" steel rims. I'm finding it next to impossible to find a center hub cover similar to the ford cop car look (pictured) to protect my axel hubs from the tons and tons of salt and sand they put on the roads here. Does anyone know where I can get something similar for my CX-5. Plastic hub caps are definitely out of the question. The only other option maybe a set of old fashioned axel dust covers but I can't find any that fit. Any suggestions out there???
Do the wheels sit flush with the hub on the CX-5? I did this on my accord’s winter wheels (haven’t with my Mazda yet). Found chromed plastic caps which provided a lip over the wheel bore, and gave about an inch of depth. I cut off three of the mounting tabs (these actually perfectly mounted onto the wheel center bore), put a strip of 1/8” VHB tape around the edge of the cap, then mounted it to the wheel. I kept three of the tabs in place to get it perfectly centered, then cut them off after they were in place. Work perfectly.

I found some trailer center caps that fit my Mazda CX-5 at Etrailer.com, simple 5 x 4.5 inch center hub caps which press on over the lugs
