I wonder if you can help?

We currently have a 55 Mazda 6 and looking to get a Mazda 5 so we have the extra row of seats.

When sitting in our friend's Mazda 5 which is a few years old, it feels just like our Mazda 6. The seats are the same, also the height you feel you are driving is the same.

When we test drove a new Mazda 5 the other day we were surprised to find it felt so much higher and wider.

So my question is, did they put in the new seat and feel of position when the new Mazda 5 came out in October last year?

We want a newer car to the one we have now, but not precious about the age, more interested in getting the mileage as low as possible, so will try to get one as new as we can with the old seats.

If I'm not mistaken, Mazda changed the seats in the 5 for the 2012 model year. I believe here in the States they are a bit wider but not sure about the U.K.
