Tyre Pressure on TS2

Any idea what the tyre pressure should be for TS2 1.8? The tyres are set at 28psi when the car was collected from the dealers but the sticker on the driver side door pillar says 32psi

I'm running at 32 all round as per the door pillar sticker

Does this tire eating problem only exist in the UK? I have an '08 Canadian Spec - not sure it it applies to me?

Is your tyre problem front rear or both?

Most of the tyre thread talks about rears with a bit of discussion about fronts. My problem seems to be both (I wonder of they swapped them at the service...hmmm) but much more severe on the fronts. So as to get an approx percentage I would be interested to know what the distribution is.

RE: Is your tyre problem front rear or both?

My fronts were gone at 12,500, rears at 25,000. They had not beenswapped from front to back. On every tyre the wear was only a 1 inch wide band around the inside edge, leaving the remainder of the tyre with thousands more miles of life left in them. Annoying.

Tyre Selection

All

I have just done 17000 miles on my Mazda 5 and I now need a new set of tyres on the front. There is some severe wear on the outside. The original tyres were Dunlop but having read various posts I believe I should try something different this time. I was considering something like Bridgestones or Pirelli.
Can any of you members recommend which tyres I should purchase ?

Many thanks

Con

RE: Tyre Selection

First off, get an alignment, one designed to eliminate your bad tire (tyre) wear.
Second, what size are you looking at and with what wheels? OE's are of course 205/50-17", but other options are available.
What is your driving style? Do you like to take turns hard? Accelerate hard? Drive "gently?" Do you need/want an all season tire?
All of these are a factor... and more.

Thanks for your reply.
I am looking for an 'All Season' tyre, Size 195 65 15 91 V.
I am a 'gentle driver'

RE: Tyre Selection

15's, on a 5 series?? Is that OE for yours?
I know in the states the 5's have the same braking and drive system as my 3 (2.3L, big brakes,) and 15's will not fit, only on the 2.0L base model sedans. 16's are a small as you can go w/that drive train.
If you're sure, I can do some research for you. I do tire research all the time anyway.
Let me know.
