I would like to remove the passenger seat from my 2006 Mazda 5 as I use the vehicle for work and never transport a passenger. If I disconnect the airbag wiring under the passenger seat will I screw up the whole system?

Its possible, I know the new Ford Fiesta uses the passenger switch to activate the rear airbags so if its bad/no passenger/disconnected the rears wont fire BUT there is a TSB/Recall out about this issue.
