Default Oil change Issues

Hey, I just changed the oil in my 2006 Mazda 5 and I'm having a couple of issues. When I drained the oil I only got about 3 litres out. The dipstick was still reading full. I let it sit for about an hour and it still was reading full. I added 3 litres of oil and the dip stick was reading way too full. I took it for a short drive and the transmission wasn't engaging properly. I have changed the oil on the car before and never had any problems. Has anyone experienced anything like this....I hope I didn't blow the main rear seal!

Only a guess. You drained the transmission fluid, instead of the crank case oil.

That would be my guess as well. The engine oil drain plug is on the RH side of engine and would require a 17mm wrench to remove. Auto trans pan drain plug is on LH side and is 19mm. Manual trans is also on LH side and would bea 23mm plug.
