hello I am a new Mazda 5 (2013 model) owner in the US and I just noticed that the inner tail lights dont light up. See pic attached. Are these supposed to work or they for decoration only?

 

Look at the back of most "World cars" and you will notice this. The lenses you are looking at are, in some countries, yellow and have lights in them. I believe in countries that have an inordinate amount of fog they are used as foglights. My Hondas have unused lenses as well.

 

New owner of a 2013 5 Sport. 104K miles, salvage title, in the resurrection process:-) OP`s question didn`t get answered that I can tell. Are the red lenses just dummies? Also does the interior hatch panel need to be removed to access the back up bulbs?
