Mazda 5: Non-OEM Towbar

Mazda 5: Non-OEM Towbar
Hi,
Has anyone encountered difficulties in putting a non-OEM towbar on a Mazda 5. I've got the variant that has the fog light dead centre below the bumper. (and its this that is causing the problem.)
A reputable dealer is saying I will need a part from Mazda (presumably to move the fog light) but neither my local Mazda dealer nor Mazda technical know anything about this. [Although I guess they are only able to advise on OEM bars.]
Can anyone advise if such a part is required and what it is.
