Default MAZDA 5 2.0 SPORT (2008) - engine compatibility

Hi all.

I am looking to replace the engine, old one died, and thought I'd ask whether someone here knows what engines are compatible with my car.

Here is the data I have:
MAZDA 5 I, 05-10, 2.0 MPV 146 hk .2005-.2010, FS-ZEModel:MAZDA 5 2.0 SPORT
Engine Code : FS-ZE Year: 2008
Original Engine Part Number: LF5W-02-300C

Engine: Gasoline, 2.0 I4 (145 hk)
KW:107 Horse Power:146
Fuel: Gasoline (95) Transmission: Manual 6 gears
Tyres: 205/55R16 91V Drive: 2WD
Body Work: MPV Length: 4500 Doors: 5
Sold as: Mazda 5 generation CR Facelift 2.0 MZR

What are my options? Which engines can I fit into this vehicle?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards,
Montero

I'm now in the same boat and interested in what you find out. I would like one with better emissions, lower road tax bracket and ideally more power. A Skyactiv motor works well in my Dad's 2016 MX5 but I have no idea if it would fit.

There are people who have successfully put a 2.5L in. You can check out the Facebook group 'Duratec/MZR 2.5 Swap Revolution':

Good luck!
