Help? 2010 Mazda 5 makes grinding noises only when accelerating and cold
Hi, was wondering if anyone has had a similar issue? Has 130k and Auto transmission and noise comes from front passenger side under glove box. You can hear the noise clearer from inside than outside the car. No noise when braking and noise does not seem to speed up with acceleration. Makes no noise when coasting.
It makes this noise when accelerating in drive up to about 30-40mph. Once the car has warmed up it no longer makes any grinding noise. When warm the car sounds quiet and normal except the banging from suspension or motor mounts or rims
Ive been told the sound is from a combination of the struts links and motor mounts etc and that once I fixed it all it will stop but I am not going to put in 3-4k and the noise still be there
This happened right after getting front brakes and rotors and bleeding the brake system.
At the time I thought the car was slightly tilting downward on passenger side and was told the front end was fine and needed nothing and it may have a slight sag since it was the original struts but they saw nothing wrong with my suspension. I also had 4 new tires put on the car a month prior.
I know it DOES NEED all motor mounts cause the engine shot forward when on the lift giving gas and probably front struts, but nobody can figure out what this noise is coming from. I do not want to do work until I know what the noise is from.
Ive been to the Mazda Dealer and multiple mechanics and spent hundreds on diagnosing this car. I have been told it needs a full exhaust from flexpipe back for 1450.00 and then told I do NOT need a new exhaust and they put a partial pipe on. Ive been told it needs a wheel bearing by Mazda but they were not really sure.
I’ve been told I also need 3 Rims a month after putting 4 tires on them. Then Mavis tells me my rims are fine.
The noise is getting louder and louder over time and now when its cold and in drive at a light with the brake on it will make some light noise or vibration. Makes no noise in Neutral or Park or Reverse.
I was told it’s not the flex pipe or manifold by multiple mechanics.
I gave up driving it and only drive it a few days local and slow for a few miles hoping something goes so I can know what it was.

it was the Passenger side mount making the noise. Replaced all 4 mounts. Got the kit on walmart etk-025. The whole kit was like 105.00
