Default engine undertray/panel fell off - worth replacing?

Was hearing strange noise from under the car while driving, and found that the engine undertray was hanging off. It was badly damaged so I just removed it completely.

Is it worth replacing? The car seems to run fine without it. Main dealer is quoting £340 to replace.

It stops small rocks/water spray etc. It will not protect anything from a big hit to the oil pan etc. It's just plastic. Cars did fine without them for 75 years or so.

thanks, in that case I think I'll save the £340 for something else. I have my suspicions they might not have reattached it securely after the last service (which was last month), but there's no way of proving this.

But old cars weren't built so low to the ground and have very thin engine castings and belts hanging out into the grime.

I would look in a junkyard or online for a cheap used one.
