Hello, I just recently swapped my engine in my 08 Mazda 5. Now I'm getting anti theft light coming on and won't turn over. I've switched the whole steering column so that it would match the motor I put in thinking that was the issue but it's still not starting and throwing the anti theft code. Also a code about the key? I'm not sure what's going on here and I'd really love to know if there is a way I can do this without having to take it into a dealer. I really wanted to keep my vehicle but it now looks like I may have to scrap it but due to all the hard work that's put in I really just love to know if anyone knows how I can over ride this. Fingers crossed someone has an answer because I am beyond frustrated. Thank you for your advice and any tips.

 

If you used another ECU / PCM, the immobilizer system will need re-coding.

 

Another ECU? mine was in there at first, than my husband tried to switch it out using the one that matched the engine and same thing happened. No matter what I'd need to reprogram it?
