Did you think it played DVD's?? (Sport Nav)
...or am I the only naive person who thought that having a 'DVD satellite navigation touch screen system' meant it played DVD's?...or am I doing something wrong and it should play them?
Thanks

Our X5 didn't play through the Sat Nav but it did have provision for a PS2 so we went with that.
You could try

To see if its possible through the Nav System.

You mean you don't sit outside your house in your car watching DVD's
The only time our front screen is on in the X5 is when I'm waiting for the wife & watching tv or vice versa.
& to be honest the only time the PS2 has been on in the Car is when the oldest Boy (6) is playing his games, sure keeps him quiet.

playing dvd through sat nav
hi
reference the above thread you cannot play dvd through the sat nav unless you order the car from japan with all the trimmings. User handbook states that you can but as i have come to learn with Mazda it does not do what it says on the tin. If you go to the us Mazda forum there is reference to an adapter that you can fit and splice the wires to get it to play. Looking at the adapter it is some £500 us dollars so a little to expensive for some thing to play with...

playing dvd through sat nav screen
hi
I do not think it is straight forwards as just cutting the wires, due to the reverse camera feed that is linked into the sat nav. I understand that it an be done but if you splice the wires then there would be no way of changing form dvd to sat nav unless you have one of the adapters that i mentoned.
I know if you have it all installed at the factory then you put on the rear entertainment system press the media button and you can play the dvd player through the sat nav and speakers. However mine is a locally sourced fitting by the local dealer and i brought the car second hand so was finding out after the fitting was done.
i have the link for you it is from the states and they have the same model as us here so they seem to be making it work. They seem to be a head of in the technology side of things so it may catch on over here.
