So my 2007 Mazda 5 recently started flashing the airbag light on the dashboard in the 1-9 pattern. I am trying to nail down information on this particular code to have a better idea of what it could mean. I see a few posts for other years, specifically the 2006, so I'm not sure if it would be the same issues. Anyone with experience with this particular problem? Ideas I might be able to try or pass along to my mechanic? I want to avoid the overpriced dealership as I'm sure they'll tell me I need to replace all the airbags and the engine and probably buy a new car...

I've seen a few posts that seem to point to the passenger seat, so I am going to check that out first to see if there is a problem there as I do have a child seat behind it that I anchored with a strap to the passenger seat. Could be setting off some sort of sensor, odd as that might sound. Going to check under the seat, too. If that does nothing (which I am not super hopeful) I will hopefully ask my mechanic to check and clean all the wiring connections. I suppose the next step could be something with a springcoil?

I welcome any other ideas.
