Default Where is my oil going

My 2011 Mazda 3 sport with 2.5 engine is sucking oil. The car is never driven hard and has 14,233 easy miles on it. After an oil change and 743 miles later, the engine required nearly one quart to bring it back to the full level. After the oil change, I did check the oil after got home to be sure it was full. mazda could not fine any oil leaks nor evidence of oil burning such as black or oily tail pipes. I have not noticed any smoke from rear of car while driving.
Right now the dealer is doing an oil analyst. It is going on a 900 mile round trip in a few weeks and that should tell me something. What I am asking is: Is anyone that has the 2.5 had this problem. If so, what was done to correct this?
IMO, if the car is not leaking oil, then it has to be burning it. But then, it should be a smoker. Maybe I just can't see it. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Your catalytic converter is converting the oil and you need to change your PCV valve.
PCV valves are not on Mazda's list to check or change. This is the first thing to change when this happens. Your PCV valve may be faulty.
If this doesn't help then it's your valve seals on intake or exhaust valves OR worn piston rings. Your engine should be broke in by now
