i want a good sound system for my mazda 3. i'm sure you all know that mazda 3 has a very poor reception when listening to radio, so i am planning to get a shark fin antenna (make it look better and improve the reception). anyway.. i'm trying to get a sound sytem for my car, preferbaly a sub woofeer that produces clean and nice bumpin sound anyone know any out there? GOOD but affordable

 

I would HATE to see what you have to do to the dash to make it work...

 

well, by what she wrote, i think she only wants a decnt sub. thats not too much of a big project like if u wanted to put a clarion HU or sumthing.

 

^^ I don't know if the stock HU has the ability to have a line-out and remote wire.

 

You can tap into the speaker leads using a line out converter to feed a new amp, or amplified woofer. A remote can be had almost anywhere, and certainly there's one that keeps the current radio settings which could be tapped into also.

And for the record, I am not into audio/video w/this car.I really couldn't care less, but I have seen enough icspots posts to know something about what can andcannot be done.
I've even thought of just removing the damn thing ansd saving some weight.

aren't you guys on the same page with me? our antenna/ reception sucks. will getting a shark fin antenna make it better?

you got a good point there draconius, but i'm stilll debating, haven't got it done yet.

i have JL 12w3 subs in my car.
they're rated at 300watts each, so they make enough bass to keep me happy... but i also have 2 of them, so you could always just get 1 ten inch sub, and be fine with that.

also, i find that every car audio company has they're entry level subs (ie, Alpine tpye e subs), and competition subs (alpine type x).
there is a $800 difference there, and a good 1000 watts difference too.

ibarely even use my radio, ive been player CD's or my mp3 player alot. but from wat i remember, i tihnk the Sharkfin doesnt increase your reception.

 

thankd dentinger. my asian friend told me about w6 model.. but i saw the JL website they have W7 now so i don't know. is there anything i can do to increase the reception? i tend to get sick of my music. how much did u get ur 12 inch for dentinger?
