My wife and I just bought an '06 3s hatchback 4spd with the 2.3L with about 44K on it. The test drive was perfect so we bought it because it was such a great deal. Anyways we were out last night and I noticed that when I stop completely and accelerate moderately, that first gear feels funny, like it is hesitant to engage. The streets are a little slippery from snow, sleet, and what have you in the freezing climate, so I am not sure that this is why or not.On pure snow with no pavement showing there is no issue. I have not driven the car much on the streets, just back from the dealer on the highway and our 4 mile round trip journey last night. I'll probably drive it some more tonight so I can see if it is still a problem. Anyone else have or know if there is an issue with these transmissions?
