mazda 626 2.0l estate 1998 1st gear problem
Hi,
We've had our 626 estate for 5 years, great car with a few minor problems but nothing awful.
However we've always had a clutch which bites really low, but now it's becoming very difficult to get it into first gear.
I want to keep this car but it's only worth about £1200 now, only got 48k miles on it, the garage says it may be the clutch master and slave cylinders as they noticed weak clutch hydraulics and there was black fluid when the tried to bleed it during the service - which would cost about £260
We mentionned the difficult first gear and they said it may be the clutch, this would cost an additional £450 if it needed doing.
I'm concerned it may be the gear box / transmission as I cannot get the clutch to slip, and I would have thought we'd had trouble in all gears - the only gear it is difficult to get into sometimes is first.
Can anyone here offer any advice
