Default Transmission Fluid Capacity

Greetings All...I'm having an issue determining the appropriate amount of automatic trans fluid. The ride is a 2008 Mazda3i 2.0 automatic 4 speed. All owners manuals and online references indicate around 7qts. Most do DIY forums indicate 3-3.5qts. I recently did a flush (3 in - 3 out) and afterwards put 3.5qts in and at normal operating temps my level appears over the dip stick full line.

Any advice?

You will see 2 different fluid capacity numbers because one is total capacity and the other is drain and refill. Total capacity is used after an overhaul. When servicing the trans add 1 quart or so under the service fill capacity, start the engine and put it in forward and reverse a few times then put it in park and let the engine warm up until the cooling fans kick in. Check your fluid level with it in park and running.
