1. Tires are 4 Sumitomo HTRZ III 205/50 R17
2. Imprinted on tire, "OUTSIDE"
3. Tread pattern is "asymmetric tread design".
4. See Pic http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....omCompare1=yes
5. Mounted as required = 2 tires "upside down". Which side, you decide.
6. Left vs right tread pattern is opposite.
7. Even if "directional tires, same situation".
8. Will the design work either way? (probably not)
9. Why would a tire manufacturer design a tire with two opposing tread patterns from right to left with an obvious bias?
10. Input would be useful. If you can mount these in a different way, let me know!

I have bought the same set of tires and wondered that also.

They seem to be wearing evenly, no shakes, wobbles, or ticks.

I personally love the tires, handle well, especially in wet weather.
