Default Throttle Body Service

What is this, that the dealer service dept has recommended for a 2nd time?
Even though they did it(or at least charged me for it) less than 10,000mi ago?

What is what?....throttle body service?

The throttle body is the top portion of the fuel injection system. It regulates the airflow into the engine.

What symptom is your car showing that you are having it serviced? Are you under warranty?

yes, what is throttle body service
they said I needed it, based on mileage.
I said, unless it wasnt done back in the spring when I was charged for it, I'm pretty sure I dont need it again, since I had never"needed" it done til 48,000 miles(up to 52,000 now).
either they charged me for it and didnt do the work(in the spring), or they're tryin to rip me off now.
by the way they also said I needed to have the fuel injector cleaned too. Also something that was done in the spring, supposedly.
Car isnt showing any symptoms that I'm aware of. Wasnt back in the spring either.
But since I put a min of 400 mi/week on the car I was willing to go with their word on these needed services, as I'm interested in keeping the car running as good as I can.

I've worked on my fair share of cars, and I've never heard of throttle body service. I've heard of people replacing the throttle body on their vehicle due to performance issues (not on the 3...just in general.) What services due they perform with this throttle body service? Have them give you the details. I think they're taking you for a ride.

FYI...Fuel injectors get cleaned with a $4.00 bottle of fuel additive that you put in your gas tank. I drove the snot out of my 3, put 53,000 trouble-free miles in 2 years with nothing but regular oil changes.
