Lol, "fart cans." No kidding. I was delivering pizzas a few years back in East Lansing with the Prism: about 120 hp, totally stock with a slush box. It was about 3 in the morning and a kid pulls up next to me in his tricked out Civic. Dragon decals on the side, mammoth exhaust and what appeared to be a boost gauge on the A-pillar - the works. He starts revving it up at the light and I think, "hell, why not?" expecting to be blown out of the water by Mr. Nightrider over here. Light turns green, we punch it and this kid is left in the receding glow of my Pizza House sign. Couldn't believe it. My feeling is if you're going to advertise to the world that you're a speed freak you should have the hardware to back it up, right? What brand is your muffler?

Hey now, don't be knocking the dragon decals....i have em'...lol. They're coming off soon though. My muffler is Cherry Bomb brand, and its their Extreme Model. The box says, "For those who live to break the law" or something to that effect.

In other words, 3" tubing, straight through w/juussttt a little fiberglass packing to make it "legal." That"s got to be loud, Dude. I was still in school when the original CB"s came out, what you have I"m sure, and they had the rep ofbeing the loudest of glass packed muffler. And 6 months later the packing got wet or "burned out" as we used to say and it got LOUDER!!

Speaking strictly for myself, NOTHING sounded better than a Hemi Road Runner with a pair of CBs on it. [8D]

It is, very very loud. The sad thing is, is that the muffler is RIGHT UNDER my front seats.......Thats's why my stereo is always turned up......

Ah. Those were the days, huh Dale?
I would put that example in the category of extremely raucous though.
I knew someone that had one w/dual Thrush mufflers on a HRR back in the day. Once burned-out, that was extremely raucous too.

Actually did a partial attempt at that. Took off the stock muffler and res and ended up getting pulled over in a town about 15 mins away called Delphi (or Deltucky). The ******** cop tried getting me for that AND for a license plate cover. Luckily, a State Trooper pulled up behind him and ordered him not to give me a ticket. After that little incident, every time I saw a cop here in town, the first thing I did was, from a dead stop, was put the car in 2nd and take off SLOWLY.....Then after a few short (at the point, long feeling weeks) I managed to come up with the money to get just the resonator re-installed.
