Default Sticky Throttle

Hey guys, the 3 in my sig has been having this issue and its slowly getting worse, when I let off the throttle it sometimes wont come all the way back, it hangs up slightly depressed and keeps the RPMs up a tick (900ish), it also feels "grabby" when pressing it past idle, there is also a "dead spot" where if you balance the throttle right at the point where your not accelerating OR decelerating it feels like it cuts out but only at that position (I know thats not cable related though). I am thinking my throttle cable may be sticking/wearing out since its not a TB issue (cleaned and inspected) and I checked all I could at the pedal. I wont be back till about Wednesday to reply so dont worry about me not answering right away Have a good weekend everyone!!

Servus, MazdaTirol:

In my 98 Protege the throttle cable makes a U turn around the intake manifold. I think that's where the most friction occurs. I've taken the cable off the the TB and held it up to put lubricant in the cable housing. I used heavy silicone. I pushed and pulled the cable end in and out a few times to make the lube move into the housing.
Make sure that the cable is A-o.k. If only one wire is broken it can unwind and make the cable stick.
I am going to watch the German Grand Prix this Sunday. I hope the weather doesn't get much better. Rain makes the races more interesting.

Read the post on my phone while in Kaprun, oiled the cable and its working better now, not hanging up as bad as it was, think I have dirt in it though. The dead spot is getting worse though, when you hit the point in the throttle the car slows down like its out of gas until you push further then it bucks then goes, I am thinking my TP sensor is going out, no codes yet, anyone have the resistance specs for it?
